The state exam is run by WORD, not by your driving school. Here is exactly what happens on the day, from booking to result.
Warsaw has two examination centres for Category B: WORD Bemowo (ul. Powstańców Śląskich) and WORD Odlewnicza (Praga). You choose which one you register at — the routes and traffic differ, so ask your instructor which fits your training.
Booking your exam
You book through the WORD online system (info-car) with your PKK number. Theory can be booked at any time; the practical exam only after you complete 30 hours of training. Typical waiting time for the practical exam is 2–3.5 weeks.

The practical exam — manoeuvring area
You start with a vehicle check (the examiner asks you to identify two elements, such as oil level or brake-fluid level), then a hill start or a straight reverse. Mistakes here end the exam before you leave the centre, so practise this part until it is automatic.
The practical exam — city driving
The city part lasts around 25–40 minutes. The examiner gives directions and otherwise stays quiet. You must complete a set of required tasks: turning at junctions, changing lanes, driving through a roundabout, overtaking, parking, and an emergency-style stop if the route allows it.
Two mistakes of the same type, or one dangerous action, ends the exam. Silence from the examiner is normal and is not a bad sign.
Which car to use
WORD provides manual cars only. If you train and want to be examined on an automatic, you rent the school car for the exam. Many learners also rent our car for the manual exam simply because it is the vehicle they know.
If you do not pass
Nothing is lost — you simply book another attempt, and there is no limit on attempts. Most learners who fail do so on the manoeuvring area or on observation at junctions; a few extra hours with an instructor usually solves it.
