Exam routes in Warsaw — what to expect on the practical test

The practical exam starts on the manoeuvring yard and continues for roughly 25–40 minutes in normal traffic. Examiners pick from a limited pool of routes around each centre, so the area can be practised in advance — that is the single most effective form of preparation.

Around WORD Bemowo

• Powstańców Śląskich and Górczewska — multi-lane junctions with traffic lights and frequent lane changes
• Tram crossings where you must give way to trams turning across your path
• Residential streets with 30 km/h zones, speed humps and priority-to-the-right junctions
• Roughly 90% of exams follow two main route variants, so two or three lessons in the area cover most of it

Around WORD Odlewnicza

• A section of expressway with merging at higher speed — usually the most stressful part
• 8–10 demanding junctions, several with dedicated turn arrows
• Long stretches of Modlińska with heavy lorry traffic
• Fewer route variants, but each one is more demanding than at Bemowo

Tasks that appear on almost every route

• Starting on a hill without rolling back
• Reverse parking, parallel or bay, on a real street
• Turning around in a confined space using forward and reverse gears
• Crossing a tram line and pedestrian crossings with correct observation
• Driving straight through a junction with unusual priority rules

How to use this

Ask your instructor for at least two lessons on the exam area of the centre you booked, at the same time of day as your exam. Traffic at 8:00 and at 14:00 is a different test entirely. We plan those lessons as part of every course and explain each junction in English.
