When expats ask us 'how much is a driving licence in Poland', the honest answer has two parts: the fixed fees everyone pays, and the variable costs that depend on how your exam attempts go. Here is the full picture for Warsaw in 2026.

The course itself

At Lauto the Basic course in English costs 5290 PLN, Accelerated 5990 PLN and Intensive 7090 PLN — all include the full 30 hours of driving, theory lectures in English and internal exams. Very cheap offers elsewhere often cut driving hours or add fuel and internal-exam fees later.

Fixed fees outside the school

• medical certificate — around 200 PLN
• WORD theory exam — 50 PLN (English available, no surcharge)
• WORD practical exam — 250 PLN
• licence card issuance — 100 PLN
• biometric photo — 30–50 PLN

Variable costs to plan for

The most common extra is refresher lessons before the exam (180 PLN/h, or 1700 PLN for 10 hours) and a retake of the practical exam — another 250 PLN per attempt, sometimes plus hiring the school car for exam day (290 PLN). A realistic budget includes a 500–1000 PLN buffer on top of the course price.
