Why choose an automatic
- No clutch or gear changes — easier to focus on observing traffic.
- No hill-start problems and no stalling the engine on the exam.
- New hybrids and EVs are automatic-only — code 78 rarely limits you.
- The same car for the course and the exam — a Toyota C-HR like at WORD.
- Lessons 7 days a week, 6:00–22:00, across Warsaw.
- English-speaking instructor throughout the course.
Automatic course — frequently asked questions
Which car will I drive on the automatic course?
Lessons take place in a Toyota C-HR with an automatic transmission — the same model you can take the state exam in at WORD. The car has all the driver-assistance systems you will meet on the exam.
How is a licence passed in an automatic different?
An exam passed in an automatic gives you a category B licence with code 78 — you may drive only cars with an automatic transmission. To drive a manual, you would need to pass an additional practical exam in a manual car.
Is the automatic course easier?
Driving itself is simpler — no clutch or gear changes, so it is easier to focus on traffic and observation. The course programme is identical though: 30 hours of driving, theory and an internal exam. The state exam has the same tasks and assessment rules.
How much does the automatic course cost?
The course price is the same as for a manual — from 5290 PLN for the Basic Course. For the WORD exam you can rent the school's Toyota C-HR for 290 PLN.
Can I take the WORD exam in the same car?
Yes — we provide the Toyota C-HR for the exam at WORD Bemowo or Odlewnicza. It is worth booking an hour of driving before the exam to get used to the manoeuvring area and the exam routes.
Who is the automatic course for?
For people who plan to drive an automatic (e.g. a hybrid or an EV), struggle with clutch coordination, or want to master city driving faster. More and more new cars are automatics, so code 78 is rarely a real limitation today.
